Effective measures put in place to address dev issues in minimum possible time’

RAJOURI, FEBRUARY 09: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal today chaired a Block Diwas meeting here at Budhal and redressed several issues of the public on the spot.

Interacting with the locals the DDC said that the District Administration Rajouri is putting in untiring efforts to make services and welfare schemes easily accessible to citizens

Among others present during the event included ADDC, Pawan Kumar; BDC Chairperson Budhal New, Shamim Akhter; ADC Koteranka, Surinder Mohan Sharma; Addl. SP, Vivek Shekhar; ACD, Sushil Khajuria; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; PO ICDS, Kartar Singh; CAO, Som Singh; DSHO, Dr Sarfraz Naseem Chowdhury and other District and sectoral officers.

The public and their representatives apprised the DDC about scores of issues and demands of their areas. They demanded compensation of land acquired for PMGSY road from Targain to Kandra, renovation of Samote to Targain road, implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission; repair and renovation of High School building Targain and provision of playground for the institution, check on inflated electricity bills, and delayed payments under MGNREGA etc.

They also demanded adequate staff at PHC Budhal and it’s up-gradation to CHC level, repair and renovation of PHC building at Samote, provision of a ultrasound machine at PHC Budhal, funds for repair of old irrigation canals, toilet and drinking water facilities in health sub centres, replacement of worn out water pipes etc.

Some more issues included meeting of shortage of electricity poles and transformers, blacktopping of road from Kewal to Targain, construction of road from Phalni to Trankota, repair and renovation of Dak Bunglow Budhal, construction of road from Khagoli to Nangatho, sanctioning of additional anganwadi centres, ICT lab to be set up at HS Gabbar, repair and renovation of GGHS Budhal, delayed disbursement of cases under SEGs etc.

Public also demanded a fire service station at Budhal, check on encroachment of state land, compensation of road from Budhal to Gabbar, sanctioning of playground in every panchayat, expediting the issuance of contractor cards, construction of a bus stand at Budhal, sanctioning of additional feeder on receiving station at Budhal etc.

Other issues included construction of road from Bathan to Samote, road from Budhal to Shiv Gufa, inclusion of left out eligible beneficiaries under PMAY-G and SMAS, check on unscheduled power cuts, speeding up work on filtration plant Koteranka subdivision, sanctioning of new pension cases under different categories etc.

The DDC gave a patient hearing to all the issues and demands projected during the event and passed on the spot instructions to the concerned officers for the quality and time bound redressal of the genuine public concerns. Several issues were resolved on the spot.

The concerned officers also responded to the queries raised by the public. They also educated the public about various schemes and programs being implemented by their departments in the district for the welfare of the general public and motivated them to avail the benefits of the same.

The DDC said that the District Administration is committed to provide all the basic facilities at the doorsteps of the common masses and all possible efforts are being made to ensure that no one is deprived of getting their basic rights.

Listing the measures being taken to counter the third COVID wave in the district, he also appealed to the general public to supplement the efforts of the District Administration by following COVID Appropriate behaviour.

Later, the DDC also visited the fish farm at Phalni wherein the concerned officer apprised that Trout fish is being reared in the farm.
