Rahul Gandhi is embarking on his final leg of Bharat Jodo Yatra, and has entered today Kashmir valley in its last leg. Many questions are unanswered on historical blunders, especially dictatorship often practiced by the Congress party right from the days of the independence of the country. The most ugly dictatorship has been shown by the Congress party with reference to Jammu and Kashmir and its issues.
Today when Rahul Gandhi is marching without fear on streets of Kashmir, it is due to the great era of Bhartiya Janta Party. It is because of the achievements of BJP in the nation that from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, Rahul Gandhi was given full freedom to hold his yatra without any hassles.
On the other hand, the Congress party was totally opposite in its role.
Congress was highly negligent towards Dr Shyama Prasad Mukhrjee
Congress brutalized democracy by crippling the Icons of freedom movement like Dr Shyama Prasad Mukhrjee.
Mukherjee was arrested on entering Kashmir on 11th May, 1953. Thereafter he was jailed in a dilapidated house. Dr. Shyama had suffered from dry pleurisy and coronary troubles. He was taken to hospital one and a half months after his arrest due to complications arising from the same.
He was administered Penicillin despite having informed the doctor-in-charge of his allergy to penicillin and he died on 23rd June 1953. No post mortem was ordered in total disregard of the rule.
Maulana Azad, who was acting Prime Minister (in absence of Nehru, who was away in London) did not allow the body to be brought to Delhi and the dead body was directly flown to Calcutta. His death in custody raised wide suspicion across the country and demands for independent enquiry were raised, including by eminent personalities of the country.
The Hoisting Of The Tricolour at Lal Chowk in 1992
It also has been 32 years since all eyes were set on Clock Tower at the historic city centre of Lal Chowk here on the occasion of Republic Day in 1992 when the Tricolour was unfurled early in the morning amid tight security by then BJP president Murli Manohar Joshi, who was accompanied by some party colleagues, including the current Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
There was an explosion or two in the vicinity, triggered by suspected militants. It was a psychological war against militants to take control of the historic Lal Chowk.
The hoisting of the Tricolour at Lal Chowk was the culmination of the BJP’s “Ekta Yatra”, which had begun from Kanyakumari.
The event was over in 15 minutes, after which the BJP president interacted with media persons under heavy security cover inside the packed visitors’ room at the helipad of Badami Bagh Cantonment.
That time too Congress and its allied parties crested much time for BJP. There also have been scores of examples in the past 25 years rule of Congress lasting till 2014, that BJP and RSS leadership was arrested on the way to Jammu and Kashmir and a lot of problems were created for it.
Congress excesses in 2011
Who can forget 2011, when under Congress rule. It was during Ekta Yatra of 2011 that day after being thrown out of the Jammu and Kashmir, senior leaders late Sushma Swaraj, late Arun Jaitley and Ananth Kumar tried to re-enter the erstwhile state along with the Ekta Yatra being led by the party’s youth wing president Anurag Thakur but it was foiled by police which had put a barricade.
“What can be more unfortunate that those who burn the national flag are being provided security while those holding the national flag are being stopped,” said late Swaraj as she was arrested along with Jaitley, Kumar and Thakur on entry into Jammu and Kashmir from Punjab.
Congress should next time look at its dictatorship before raising questions as it is enjoying the fruits of democracy in opposition while implementing dictatorship during rule.
