Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, on Wednesday, said that whosoever is found to be a part of the “terror ecosystem” in Jammu and Kashmir will face action as per the law and that it was the prime duty of police and security agencies to trace such people. “No one will be spared if found supporting terrorism in any way,” Sinha told newspersons on the sidelines of a function on agriculture here. He was replying to a question whether action would be taken against politicians if found involved in supporting terrorism. “The terror eco-system is being destroyed by the security forces,” he added.

SRINAGAR, Dec 21: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Wednesday said that only 400 to 500 people will be impacted by new land laws while the shopkeepers and anyone from the financially weaker sections won’t be impacted.

Talking to media persons in Jammu, LG Sinha said that the new land laws are at par with the national level but anybody can’t be allowed to hold on to a property worth hundreds of crores by paying just five rupees as rent.

“Some people are trying to spread misinformation on this. The Supreme Court guidelines have been taken into consideration while making new land laws here,” Sinha said.

“The earlier land laws were regressive. Anybody who had to set up an orchard or do away with one needed permission. We have changed that,” LG said.

The new land laws, notified last week, had come under criticism by mainstream parties across the board in Kashmir valley.
