Srinagar, Nov 19: CCTV footage showed an under-construction gate collapsing in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban area. Two people were injured in the incident and were shifted to the nearby district hospital.

The horrifying incident was captured in a CCTV camera in the area that showed the entire gate coming down as several pedestrians were in the vicinity. People initially panicked and scrambled as construction materials and poles used to support the concrete came crashing down. The condition of the two injured people was said to be stable.

An enquiry was launched to find out what caused the collapse. The gate opening to the main town area of Ramban was being constructed under the beautification project going on across the Jammu province. A big tragedy was luckily avoided as Ramban town is a busy area, always thronging with people, at any given point in time.

The two people who got stuck under the debris were quickly pulled out and rushed to the hospital by others on the spot.

In a similar incident on Friday, n 11-year-old-boy fell into a well in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district. Another person also got trapped in the well while trying to rescue the child. The incident took place at Hatmulla in the Nagri area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district. Visuals from the spot showed locals helping the rescue effort led by the Jammu and Kashmir SDRF and units of other forces.
