Delhi records season’s lowest temperature; Himachal, J&K may receive snowfall

New Delhi: The winter chill has seems to have descended in Delhi and is expected to set in across other parts of north India soon. The national capital recorded a minimum temperature 11.3 degrees Celsius today and the maximum settled at 27.5 degrees Celsius.
Winter seems to set in across the northern areas of India as under the influence of feeble Western Disturbance, light to moderate rainfall/snowfall expected over Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit Baltistan and Muzaffarabad on November 18 and 19.
Meanwhile, Gurugram today recorded 25.0 degree Celsius as maximmum temperature and 12.0 °C minimum temperature. Faridabad recorded a maximum temperature of 26.3 °C and 15.8 °C as minimum temperature.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that some parts of Himachal Pradesh are expected to receive rainfall/snowfall on November 19.
A new western disturbance is expected to bring in rains and heavy snow in the north and northwest India during the winter season.
According to IMD Shimla, Keylong and Kufri regions in HImachal Pradesh recorded –0.89 degrees Celsius and 5.41 °C respectively. Shmla recorded 11.4 degrees Celsius, Chamba 8.81°C, while Una recorded 22.2°C.

In the last 10-15 days, places like Lahaul, Spiti and Manali received significant amount of snowfall. Several roads were blocked in Himachal following snowfall in the higher reaches of the hill state.
Several areas in Jammu and Kashmir also received snowfall and rains in Jammu and Kashmir in the last few days.
Snowfall occurred in Sonmarg, Handwara, Kralpora, Pazipora and Tangdhar areas of Kupwara district. Tangmarg in Baramulla district, and the Khansahib area in Budgam also experiences snowfall.
Meanwhile, cold conditions prevailed in Odisha today. Kandhamal, Koraput Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi, Boudhat Ranital in Bhadrak Deogarh, Sundargarh, Paralakhemundi, Hirakud, Malkangiri, Titlagarh, Sonepur and Mahisapat witnessed cold conditions.
