The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Provincial President , Kashmir Nasir Aslam Wani has expressed grief over gutting of eight shops in a massive fire incident that occurred on intervening Saturday and Sunday night at Shatpora in Haihama area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
In a statement Nasir said that the tragic incident had saddened him to the core. Sharing in the grief of those affected, he said ” I am pained beyond words by the tragic fire incident in Hyhama. My deepest sympathies are with the affected. Coping with such a disaster of this scope must be very hard for the victims, who I pray are able to cope up with the emotional distress. I express my unison with them at this difficult time,” he said.
Meantime he impressed upon the district administration Kupwara to rush in revenue teams to the spot to assess the losses to the victims so that their amount of compensation is worked out and distributed forthwith. He also asked the district administration Kupwara to help the affected under various other centrally sponsored schemes.
Senior leaders Choudhary Muhammad Ramzan, MP Muhammad Akbar Lone, Mir Saifullah, Qaisar Jamsheed Lone, and Javed Dar have also asked the district administration Kupwara to reach out to the affected traders with relief and compensation.
Meanwhile continuing with his massive outreach programme, Nasir addressed local party unit in Kalaroos and exhorted them to work on multiple levels to increase and strengthen its organisational base in the forlorn hamlets of Kupwara.
Nasir also asked the party cadre to intensify their public outreach. “We are all weather friends of people. We have to remain with them come what may. Therefore, our cadre has to strengthen its connection with people and air their problems at all appropriate levels for redressal,” he said.
