The Jammu Kashmir’s Power Development Department (PDD) has issued a curtailment schedule for District Srinagar with effect from 15th November 2022.
“The schedule for metered as well as non-metered feeders within the jurisdiction of District Srinagar with effect from 15th November 2022. You are requested to give wide publicity to the curtailment schedule through print media for information of general public,” read an order.
The metered areas will face curtailment of electricity for one and a half hours in the morning, afternoon, and evening each. However, the non-metered areas will face curtailment for a period of eight hours a day.
The city has been divided into three groups.
The Department further divided its curtailment schedule into nine time frames i.e., 08:00 AM to 09:30 AM, 09:30 AM to 11:00 AM, 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM 12:30 PM to 02:00 PM 2:00PM to 3:30PM 3:30PM to 5:00PM 5:00PM to 6:30PM 6:30PM to 8:00PM 8:00PM to 9:30PM.
On Monday group A1 will have a power curtailment on Mondays from 8 AM to 9:30. On Tuesdays, the supply will be cut in this time frame in group A2 and on Wednesdays, group A3 will witness a load shedding from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM. The cycle will be repeated on the rest of the days. The same curtailment schedule will be witnessed group wise from 12:30 PM to 02:00 PM and from 5:00PM to 6:30 PM.
In time frame 9:30 to 11, group A2 will witness a power cut from 9:30 to 11 o Monday, A3 on Tuesday. A1 will witness the power cut from 9:30 to 11 on Wednesday . During the rest of the days the cycle will be repeated from A2 to A1.
