Intelligence agencies sounded alert in Jammu and warned of terror attacks on locals, politicians, and ex-servicemen by terrorists of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
According to the intelligence report , security forces have tracked the movement of a local terrorist and two Pakistani LeT terrorists in the Baramulla area.
The movement of the three terrorists was also recorded on October 27.
According to the alert, the targets of these terrorists are political leaders and people living outside Jammu and Kashmir along with ex-servicemen.
The intelligence units have said the terrorists might use hand grenades or IEDs for the attacks.
In an interview, Jammu and Kashmir DGP Dilbag Singh said, “A terrorist organisation of Pakistan, Resistance Front (TRF), a LeT outfit, issues threats from time to time.”
“The latest threat, which has been in circulation since yesterday, mentions that the police should be targeted on a large scale, along with people who are involved in different positive activities with the government,” he said.
“Time and again they have been engaged in nefarious acts. Legal action is also being taken against those who make such threats. Those who join such people are mostly informers at the local level,” he said.
“If someone tries to target non-locals, politicians, they will not succeed. Jammu and Kashmir Police is fully prepared,” he said.
