Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha yesterday launched ‘Inspire Gen-Z’ and ‘The Beats of J&K’, two contemporary digital shows created by the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) to engage, entertain and inspire the youth of J&K.
These programmes will go a long way in honing the talented youth of the UT of Jammu and Kashmir and give them a platform to reach the national and international level. During the last thirty years or so Jammu and Kashmir was engulfed in a dark era of chaos and bloodshed and during all these years our youth were not able to showcase their talent in many emerging fields of the life. There was bloodshed everywhere and our young generation did not get any time to engage in recreational activities. Now that the situation has improved to a great extent and people have left fear and fantasy, our younger generation is keener about giving a chance to music and other fine arts.
During the last thirty years, we hardly had any recreational activity in our colleges, universities and other educational institutions. Our youth have enough potential and they can compete at national and international levels in all the activities like sports, music, dance etc, but they had no platform available to them and nobody was coming forward to provide them an opportunity and platform .
Now, the LG administration has taken a step in this regard and department of information has started the above mentioned two programmes so that youth of Jammu and Kashmir get a chance to excel in the field of their liking. LG administration deserves a praise and pat for this initiative as this will go a long way in bringing smiles on the faces of our conflict weary youth. Department of information has all the requisite manpower and infrastructural facilities available and our youth should come forward to make good use of these facilities.
