Satya Pal Malik, former governor of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir, has often caused a furore with his comments.

It was only during his tenure that the constitutional decision to abrogate article 370, which gave special status to j&k, was nullified by central government.

Malik in his recent interview to an online portal re-ignited the memories of what came to be known as ‘faxgate’ in Kashmir politics, terms t
Sajad Lone as PM Modi’s ‘blue-eyed boy. And , lastly opposition that included PDP, NC and Congress collation was denied to form Government by centre.

In the past Satya Pal Malik had alleged that he had been offered ₹300 crore to clear two files which he had rejected.

Following Malik’s allegation, the J&K Government had approached the CBI to probe the charges.the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) carried out searches at different locations in Jammu, Srinagar, Delhi, Mumbai, Noida in Uttar Pradesh, Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala and Darbhanga in Bihar after registering two firs in connection with corruption allegations levelled by former Jammu and Kashmir Governor.

JKs controversial Roshni Act , once dubbed as the ‘biggest land scam in the country repealed by Malik.
The was was brought in the year 2001 under the former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad with the proposed twin objective of generating revenues for power projects in the state and conferring property rights to occupants of state-owned land.

It was expected that the move will boost the agriculture sector and will generate substantial revenue for the state.under the act, approximately 20.55 lakh kanals of state land was opened to conferring ownership rights.

However, over the years, only 15.85% of the land was approved for vesting ownership rights. the resultant revenue was reportedly meagre and the expected boost to the agrarian sector was also not achieved.j&k administration declares roshni act as ‘null and void’

In an interview last week, Malik targeted Lone, saying he wanted to form a government with just six members. “I asked him (Lone) who is supporting you. He said I have six MLAs, but if you give me oath, I will prove majority in a week,” Malik said in the interview.

Lone’s sharp riposte might have been to Malik’s assertion calling him the “blue-eyed boy” of PM Modi. While the PC leader had aligned with the BJP during the 2014 Assembly elections and called Modi his big brother, Lone now steers clear from the BJP, with sentiments high against the saffron party.
