Budgam police seized 03 Tippers, 02 tractors, 02 JCB and 02 Santro vehicles and arrested 08 persons for illegal excavation and transportation of minerals.

Police Station Beerwah received an information about illegal excavation and transportation of minerals at Harda-Malpora Beerwah & Nalla Sukhnag.Accordingly Police Party of Police Party Beerwah conducted the raid on specific locations and seized 03 tipper, 02 JCB & 02 tractor loaded with illegally extracted Sand/Bajri and arrested 07 persons on spot. Moreover, 02 santro vehicles were also seized in which 01 driver was arrested who were used to monitor police movement. Registration numbers of seized vehicle are : *JK02AB 2737,JK01AG 7789,JK01K 2847,JK01N 2656, JK15 2340, Chassis No’s NHN3630SZNB593700,MBNBG53ACLCG95018*
The arrested drivers were subsequently identified as:- *01.Zubair Ahmed Wani Son of Mohammad Yousuf Wani resident of Goripora*
*02.Shakir Ahmed War son of Abdul Hameed resident of Khanihama*
*03. Ghulam Hassan Ganie son of Abdul Ahad resident of Beerwah*
*04.Shafiqat Ali son of Ali Mohammad Malik resident of Sehipora Magam*
*05.Muzzafar Ahmed Malik son of Abdul Raheem Malik resident of Kahdi Banihal*
*06.Showkat Ahmed Manto son of Abdul Hameed resident of Sitharan*
*07.Imran Ahmed Tantray son of Ghulam Hassan resident of utligam*
*08.Danish Hussain Mir son of Ghulam Mohammad resident of Haygam*
Case FIR numbers *126/2022 & 127/2022* under relevant sections of law stands registered against the accused persons at Police Station Beerwah and investigation set into motion.
Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
