Two LeT militant associates held along with arms, ammo in Bandipora: Police

Bandipora, Aug 25 : Two militant associates of LeT were arrested along with arms and ammunition in Pethkoot area of Bandipora district, police said here on Thursday.

In a statement, issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a police spokesperson said that today after receiving a specific information regarding the movement of some militant associates of LeT in the JD of police Station Pethkoot, Bandipora police along with 26 Assam Rifles arrested two militant associates of LeT outfit near Lal Qilla Mode in Pethkoot during a joint naka.

Srinagar, Aug 25 (KNO): National Conference (NC) chief and Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) president, Dr Farooq Abdullah Thursday said that the conglomerate will never wind up, however, the decision on elections will be taken at an appropriate time.

Talking to the media persons here, Dr Farooq, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that unfavourable statements would come, but there is a need to be courageous enough to tackle such situations.

“If you cannot be courageous, you cannot do anything good for the people. Besides, there is a need to keep ourselves ready for the sacrifices,” he said.

He added that the decision about the elections will be taken at an appropriate time, keeping in view the situation on the ground at that time.

Baramulla, Aug 25 (KNO): The security forces on Thursday foiled an infiltration bid near the Line of Control in Kamalkote area Uri sector in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district by killing three militants.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that three militants have been killed along the LoC in Uri sector, while trying to infiltrate into this side.

He said that the bodies of all three militants have been recovered along with arms and ammunition.

Meanwhile, Kashmir zone police on its official Twitter handle also confirmed the killing of three militants during an infiltration bid in Uri sector.

“Army and Baramulla Police neutralised 03 infiltrators (FTs) near Madiyan Nanak post in Kamalkote sector of Uri. More details to be followed,” police tweeted—(KNO)
